ESPN's Scott Burnside wrote a piece on the Therrien firing and how it was the easy way out for the Penguins.

matt.mead said...: I completely agree, i read that article yesterday, burnside nailed it. I personally think the pens could have made the playoffs had they not fired therrien, now, i'm not sure. I think they should have looked to make a couple deals at the deadline to try and make push, if they don't let satan and fedotenko go at the end of the year, put some money into signing sykora, gill and a couple other free agents, and prepare for next year.; 17/2/09 8:43 AM
